Yes. If you have major medical insurance, we are happy to care for you like any other clinic. All clinic services will be billed according to insurance contracts and any co-pays and deductibles for services will be collected at time of service.
We are new to Houston County; but not new to most major insurance plans. We are currently credentialled and in-network with most major insurance plans, such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and United. Contact us for the latest updates.
Absolutely. Yes.
Traditional Medicare with or without supplement remains the most reasonable and flexible coverage for seniors. For those who choose Medicare "complete" or Medicare "Advantage" plans, please understand that these products are administered by private insurance companies as an HMO or restricted network of providers and facilities. This means that you must use providers that are in their network; and use medical facilities such as hospitals that are in-network as well. In big cities, there are usually many choices. But in rural areas, restrictive networks mean you may have to travel to see a specialist or to use a different hospital.
Texas Family Doctor is an approved traditional Medicare provider and accepts nearly all supplements. Texas Family Doctor is now "in-network" for most major Medicare Advantage plans with the EXCEPTION of Humana. Humana has notified us that they do not need additional providers in this area; so, those patients who elect Humana coverage will be responsible for Humana's out-of-network responsibilities. We will continue to re-apply for inclusion to the Humana network, but have no anticipated date of success.
We have done our best to create options to make excellent medical care affordable and available to ALL of Houston County, and beyond. We offer cash discounted services for those who don't have insurance. We also offer the Membership Plan (see below) for those who want enhanced clinic services and access at an affordable monthly rate. Many patients with "high-deductible" insurance policies or "Cost-sharing" plans choose this option as well. If you, or a friend or loved one, has a more substantial financial hardship and medical needs, please contact the clinic for additional information.

We charge a flat monthly fee; and in exchange you get unlimited office visits, secure text communication, after-hours access to YOUR practice, and a whole lot more. Discounted Membership Fees are available to Families, Veterans and Businesses who enroll their staff members.
The membership fee covers excellent primary care through physician consultations with no copay. This includes the following: annual wellness exams, sports physicals, school physicals, chronic care office visits, follow-up visits, basic office procedures and treatment of acute illness or minor injuries, all with same or next day availability, if necessary. Membership fees also covers direct communications with our practice: phone, text, video chat or email. Many services can be provided virtually; and for some members especially remote to our location, virtual services may comprise most all of their care.
Our patients will also have access to heavily discounted labs and radiology testing, office medications and special procedures not included in the membership fees.
We treat all kinds of common everyday problems like colds, flu, strep, rashes and injuries. We also treat more complicated long term medical problems like adult diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and thyroid disorder. We are CHAMPIONS of Wellness and will work to help you stay healthy.
For starters, having such unprecedented direct access to your doctor will prevent hospitalizations and specialty referrals in many cases. Hospital care and specialty physician care is not covered as part of membership plans; however when those types of care are required, we can help. We will try to connect and direst you to the most appropriate facility for your care. We will also work with your hospitalist and specialty team during your hospital stay to help better prepare for your recovery once home. We can also care for you in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or traditional Nursing Home care in either of our three Crockett Nursing Facilities.

Of course! Access is one of the greatest benefits of the direct primary care model. Because illness and injury do not respect regular office hours, you may contact us whenever you need. When messaged after hours, we will always seek to return communication at the earliest possible opportunity. We do ask for your discretion in contacting us only as medically necessary after hours, as answering routine refill requests is not how you want us spending our weekends and holidays. When you contact us and leave a detailed message via phone or text, we will see the message and respond as soon as we are able. And remember, ALWAYS DIAL 911 if you are experiencing a MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
Because you have several ways to reach your doctor, you can reach out to us whenever you need, wherever you are. Many illnesses can be diagnosed and treated with a simple conversation. We can do virtual visits and order any necessary medications from the nearest pharmacy to you virtually in most states. You should ALWAYS DIAL 911 if you are experiencing what you believe to be a MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
We maintain high standards of patient PRIVACY. We will NEVER provide your health information to any third party unless you specifically ask that we do so.
Charges will be added at time of service and applied to your preferred method of payment.
As a member, you won't have to pay a co-pay for office visits or routine physicals. Also you'll be able to avoid many visits altogether by sending your questions directly to us via email and text – something you won't get from a traditional practice. We've negotiated amazing deals for blood tests, X-rays, and other testing on your behalf.
More importantly, since you are getting all this amazing care from us, you may be able to save on your insurance premiums. Most Membership patients have a high-deductible insurance plan with more cost-friendly premiums so that they're covered in the case of a major health issue, but don't have to take out a second mortgage to afford it.
Many of our Membership Patients participate with affordable Medi-share or other cost-sharing coverage for major health expenses; and use their membership for all routine medical services. Ask us how this could work for you.
Of course. Everyone benefits from a service tailored directly to them. That’s why we offer truly custom healthcare. We’re here for you if you're sick or hurt, but we also help you proactively maintain good overall health. Every visit with us will be thorough, relaxed, and as long as you need to address your health concerns. The longer you're our patient, the more we learn about your health and lifestyle, and the better we can help you maintain that health. And when you do need help, your own doctor will help you.
